OK - I used to be quite fashionable - once. However I have had 2 kids fairly close together, therefore mat clothes and slopping around with babies clothes have been my wardrobe for past 4 years tbh. I have lived in jeans, t-shirts and trainer. I look like an aged student.

I am now back at work and am sorted for work gear, not hard. However I seem to have lost my fashion mojo and have absolutely no idea what to wear on non-work days! I mean casual stuff, not going out. What do you all wear on saturdays for instance to do the food shop, go to the park, go for lunch at the pub?

I really need to be told what is nice to wear. I am tall and thin and forty blah (older mum) so really don't like too on trend stuff. I dislike high heels as don't need the height but can't wear converse all the time and hate shoes you can't wear without socks as my feet get cold!

Hate fancy fluffy stuff. Suppose White Stuff, Gap and (some) Boden is my preferred style.

Give me a clue - please! What do you wear!

I wear skinnies, but if you prefer staighter jeans go for those instead (I am not a boot cut fan). If you like jeans as a basic then make sure you have a couple of pairs in different colours, either a dark and lighter blue, or a blue and a grey or a blue and a black. Topshop jamie jeans are very stretchy skinnies, but the Marthas are straighter but the cut might be too low. Other people love Oasis jeans.

I prefer tops to vest tops as I hate the tops of my arms and Zara has had loads of brights this year, lovely with jeans. But Gap is great too for basics. I would get some vest/t-shirts and some blousy/silky material things. French connection is nice too.

As for coats, I love my blazer. I got a navy one last year and a cream one this summer. A classic trench, see Zara online, will look also look chic by not too young.

Shoes: tan, tan, tan. I love tan shoes. Look great, go with everything. I have some tan sandals, some tan flats and some higher wedges for dressier and work. But I only buy shoes I can walk in.

And converse with jeans and blazer is absolutely great in my book!

Try loads and only buy things you really like and look good in.
