Wow - Reiss is in total meltdown!

I want to get a dress from Reiss which ISN'T Kate's Shola dress and the website is totally blocked and I just rang their helpline and a very helpful lady said the whole place was going crazy. She also said I was the only customer she had spoken to this morning who didn't want Kate's dress!

Is it just me who is actually put off getting a dress because Kate/Catherine/Duchess (whatever!) wore it? Surely everyone would know it was the one she wore and ponder the absence of glossy hair and skinny brown legs!

LankyLegs · 25/05/2011 11:31

I noticed the same and was heading to the Reiss site for a belt I was looking at! Its crazy - and I would defo not want to be wearing the same dress as KM. Why do people do it?

TimeForCake · 25/05/2011 11:38

I don't understand the hype either, definitely wouldn't want the same dress. Although, it is a nice dress and it suits her. Quite like her high street style but I certainly have a lack of skinny, tanned legs for a start!

NanAstley · 25/05/2011 11:57

I don't understand this, I truly don't. Admiring someone's dress : fine. Being inspired by someone's dress sense : fine. Buying the exact same dress someone wore for no reason other than she wore it : Confused

TimeForCake · 25/05/2011 12:04

Well said NanAstley!

Gillybobs · 25/05/2011 12:21

Ditto

Plus its hard to imagine anyone looking better in it . Grrrrr. Why put yourself in a position where an unfavourable comparison is almost certain. V odd people.

smartyparts · 25/05/2011 12:25

I agree - most odd. The fact that Kate has worn that dress would stop me from buying it, not the other way round.

Yes, she looks amazing in it - but it would render it unwearable imo

OTheHugeManatee · 25/05/2011 12:32

Who are these people who frantically swarm to buy something just because Kate has it? Confused

Weirdos.

CandyS · 25/05/2011 12:35

whispers I don't like that dress, it would look awful on someone as pale as me, plus my Nan always told me 'only old ladies wear beige', so really can't see what the fuss is!

AnnieWinehouse · 25/05/2011 12:49

Yes I went to Reiss yesterday just after she'd been seen wearing it and tried on a few nice frocks. I did see the Shola one hanging there and thought to myself, ooh that's the one Kate was wearing, shall I get it and sell it on eBay?! It wouldn't suit me... Later at home I was trying to get the Reiss website up to show DH the dress I liked and it was having none of it...
I wonder if I should have... too late now of course.
I would show you the one I wanted but can't get on the fecking website!

Pennies · 25/05/2011 12:51

Exactly! Who wants to look like a wannabe duchess?

sorry about the link here

gregssausageroll · 25/05/2011 14:00

No point in me even looking. Reiss appear to think that a female who is XL is a size 14/16. Despise shops who are so narrow minded of the female clothiong market.
