I really like the idea of these www.next.co.uk/g3612s5#996790g36 for work with black top and shoes or sandals for work and for with bright colours at weekends. But would my tummy and arse look huge in them? is there chinos or drapey trousers out there for me?

i like them
think fine on size 16
wear heels if you want them to look great

lukewarmmama · 24/05/2011 19:47

I wouldn't, but then I'm on the wrong side of 18 16.

All depends on how tall you are, where your wobbly bits are etc. Only one way to see... try it on!

AlpinePony · 24/05/2011 19:53

It's got no waist. :(

Fuctifano · 24/05/2011 19:55

5, 6 big boobs, big tummy flat wide arse but good legs. I know trying them on is the only way will need to order from directory as my local Next is
shite small.

I've got no waist either though, do you think I'd just look like a thickset brick? Anyone my kinda shape managed to find pair of drapey summery trousers that are not hareem pants (or jobby catchers as we call them in my hoose) or the strange too short looking chinos?

i think you cpul;d carry them off, but wear heels, risk is they might make arse look bigger?

piratecat · 25/05/2011 08:55

depends on your thigh size.

I would look like a piping bag in those.

Gillybobs · 25/05/2011 09:38

I am a 16 and I have those trousers in black. I really like them, I do wear spanx with them to keep my tummy flatter but I think they are super useful trousers. I always wear a heel with them which def helps. I thought they were a bargain

MmeLindor. · 25/05/2011 09:41

They are a bit tapered, aren't they? I think that might be a bit unflattering on me, but they might suit you since you are taller than me.

Emo76 · 25/05/2011 09:43

I don't think they are that flattering on the model TBH. Let us know if you try them on though and what you think!

HaughtyChuckle · 25/05/2011 10:59

would look okay I think good bra is Key

Franup · 25/05/2011 13:39

I'd be very careful about the pleaty-pouchy bit at the front, unless your top will completely hide that bit. I am a very, very safe tall size 14 with long thin legs and I tried some of those shortened chinos you dislike, which often have loose, pouchy pleats at the front and they added inches I am afraid.

Tried about 4 pairs, and in the end brough 2 pairs of flat fronted capris from Zara and much, much more faltering.

Franup · 25/05/2011 13:40

brought and flattering -sorry!

Gillybobs · 25/05/2011 15:20

That's interesting, I find the slight drape at the front hides a multitude of sins compared to very smooth front trousers

Rannaldini · 25/05/2011 15:21

nope you will look enormo
