Right, cheap wedding attire for a short rotund bride

Title says it all really :(

You lot have given me some fabulous ideas for a cheap wedding, but I will need a frock because going in jeans and a cardigan has been vetoed by my DH-to-be.

I am 5'3" at best, so pale I'm sort of bluish but with rosy cheeks, size 18ish but massive-of-belly with a charming c-section overhang and my legs are chunky but reasonably shapely. I also have wide eczema-covered feet (really, it's a miracle someone's even considering marrying me) so would prefer plain courts or something.

I've looked at Oxfam, BHS, Debenhams, Monsoon, and Littlewoods but don't really know what I'm looking for. Cheaper the better. And it has to hide the belly. My upper arms are a bit yak too :(

I was thinking something like www.bhs.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/bhsstore/657603/91594 or www.monsoon.co.uk/bridal-dresses/bala-dress/invt/85311692/ or perhaps even www.monsoon.co.uk/bridal-dresses/alston-dress/invt/85311892/. Is whitish still ok even though I have 2 DC?! I am so pale should I just forget trying to be traditional and wear something colourful?

I must sleep now but if you are bored and insomniac, please help!

I really like the BHS one, especially if as you say your legs are shapely. I think straps is probably the way to go- you don't want to be hoiking your dress up all day especially if you aren't used to wearign a dress, you want to feel as comfortable as you can but still look beautiful on your wedding day.

I really don't think you should worry about whether white is "appropriate" or not on your weddign day. Loads of people who already have DCs get married in white, some people (my SIL) don't get married in white evn when its their first marriage. its up to you. What do you see yourself wearing? (Apart from jeans...)

There are some gorgeous options here for the fuller figure wedding dress, and not too pricey (as wedding dresses go), and I'll bet you could sell it on ebay afterwards.

What about something like this that you could wear again?

La redoute

Although it is very expensive for polyester!

This is casual bridal:
Asos

Ooooooooh fab thanks. I thought I was perhaps a lost cause!

I love that ASOS one! And musthide, I didn't know they did fat bird wedding dresses so thanks for the links, loads of ideas there :)

And sorry for the links, didn't realise they'd failed :( Here goes again ...
