My brother is getting married in July. Ds will be 6 months old and we are struggling to find a nice outfit.

Want it to be comfortable and not too twee. He is big for his age and very long!

Any suggestions would be great

something nromal not all gimped up

tethersend · 22/05/2011 18:46

How about a traditional Romper? Or here?

Or Sailor style

mumblechum1 · 22/05/2011 18:49

Grin at gimped up.

I really wouldn't worry too much OP, no one really notices what babies are wearing unless they're really silly & frilly imo

At that age I would put them in a little pair of trousers/shorts and a smartish looking polo shirt. That is what I did for DS2 and he looked fine and comfortable. No one said anything either way about waht he was weariing to be honest.

Imagine spending money on a cute special outfit and he sicked up all over it before you left for the wedding?

If not try Vertbaudet.

Ah fantastic Tethersend!! That is what we are looking for. Just a nice little outfit and comfortable. Will show my DP.

Have tried Vertbaudet as i really like the stuff on there but nothing took my fancy.

My brother and future SIL will not give a flying fuck what he is wearing to be honest so there is no pressure. We were just having trouble deciding what type of thing for him to wear. Think will go with one of Tether's.

My ds wore a smart linen dungeree set

I agree to go for something simple like a romper suit - the ones tethersend has linked to are lovely.

DS was 16mo at my brother's wedding and went for a simple dungarees set. The only other suggestion I would make is to take either a good few bibs or one of his old t-shirts along to put over the top if he's going to be eating / playing with food!

sleepingsowell · 22/05/2011 19:18

I agree, the rompers tethersend linked to are just the ticket, also dungarees look lovely too - I had a gorgeous light blue gingham set of dungarees for DS that came with a white t-shirt, they were from john lewis so they maybe worth a go for nice stuff

hotcrossSES · 22/05/2011 19:36

Out of the three Converse posted, I love the first one - smart and simple.
The second one would be way too much for a 6mo IMHO. He's probably not used to wearing a 3-piece like that.

I think babies in suit is a bit chavvy
