Hyper pigmentation has anyone found anything that improves this?

I have hyperpigmentation I am desperate to improve/get rid of. I went to my gp this week to see if there was anything he could prescribe and his only advice was to wear camouflage makeup. I am so conscious of it is there anything that helps?

IPL -- if you are a good candidate for it, get it done by a dermatologist and are then committed to using total sunblock and wearing a hat for the rest of your life.

My mum and I both battle this problem and botanical ingredients like arbutin and betulinic acid, liquorice extract, etc. are gentle and I think they really do work. You can make your own treatment -- see Skin Actives or their newer UK distributor Active Formulas has the ready-made Skin Brightening Cream.

Religious use of really, really high SPF block is your best ally.

Hope that helps!

The Obagi regime may help. There's a skin-clear and skin-lightening element to it. Also wear sunblock to stop it getting worse.
