My budget is quite tight, about £50. I am wearing this, and have tried on (overpriced veils in bridal shops and quite like the fingertip length ones. I hat tiaras, but am not adverse to flowery headband things. Open to any suggestions! My usual style is quite charity shop ish, vintage on a budget stuff.

I bought this then got a cheap veil from ebay, and stitched it to it.

IMO there is minimal difference between el cheapo ones and the ££ ones from bridal shops... Some of the ones I tried on were £500!!

veil?

Usual net type veils only £30 in BHS. However, have you thought about a birdcage veil? I would recommend looking on Etsy, there are loads of different styles of birdcage (plus tons of other veils) and reasonably priced. Good luck!

Thank you geordie, I was worried about a cheap veil looking, well, cheap. Mushrooms, I had forgotten about bhs, thanks:). I would love a birdcage veil but they make my head look strange!

Mine had wee pearls on, looked beautiful, and tbh I only wore it for a couple of hours

Don't bother with veils & tiaras, if you like vintage go for a vintage style brooch or a big natural flower that your florist can wire up for you. Either of these look great on the side of your hair.
A good website for vintage jewellery is eclectic shock by Louise Pringle. I showed her my wedding necklace (an old one from my Grandma) and she made me a bracelet to match from bits and pieces of vintage jewellery. Loved it and it's original.

I made my veil from a circle of net and stitched fine cotton lace around the edge. Gathered it up a bit and sewed it onto a hair comb, job done. That was about fingertip length, similar to the Princess Catherine look TBH. Try say McCulloch & Wallis for tulle and gorgeous trimmings, if you know someone who can sew or you can, it's not a difficult project.

I got my cathedral-length single tier veil off EBay made for me for about £20 Smile there are lots of China-based sellers on there, you absolutely don't need to spend £000s!

Dress is beautiful BTW.
