sahm has just recently returned to work - got that wardrobe sorted and it works for my days off too!

but what can i wear for a night out with the girls? I hate looking like i'm playing dress up but i still wanna look stylish. I don't have any clothes that work for going out at night.

any outfits you rock when going out???

I recently bought this dress which works brilliantly - I love a dress for confidence. It's midi-length on me and I am 5'10" so it might come up long on someone shorter. It's v v flattering.

And heels!

Last time I went out with 'the girls' I wore grey skinny cargo-type pants (surprisingly flattering: I tried them in under duress) with a black silk t-shirt style top, black wedge sandals and a long grey short sleeved linen cardigan to hide my bum plus a long silver necklace and a black leather and silver bangle.

The time before that I wore a black jersey dress (Anglomania) over a black and white striped top, with the same black wedge sandals.

But I am hardly a fashion icon, I must admit! :)

Mahraih - I will go and try that on! I'm 5'7'' with short legs so sometimes these dresses don't suit me. Why is it so flattering for you?
thnx for your suggestion! xx

cbbg - where are your cargos from? grey is my fave colour at the moment - maybe b/c it's summer and I feel the need to lighten up from my usual favourite which is black??? I think I need to borrow your outfit...xx

I'm 5'2 so I don't think borrowing my outfit would give you quite the look you're after.

My trews were from M&S Limited Collection - I told you that I wasn't a fashion-leader! :)

Madhousewife - I think it's cut quite well for a high street dress, so it drapes very well. I have relatively long legs (not for my height) but they are my 'problem area' and this dress conceals those ills. Also, it hasn't got too much extra fabric so doesn't add bulk, and feels delightfully swishy :)

At 5'7" I think it should be absolutely fine for you. It also comes in a deep blue, and a coral.

I hope your night out is fun! I'm doing drinks with the girls (and dancing, argh) on Friday and looking for another dress, as the one I linked was worn previously, so watching your thread with interest ...
