16-18, 5'3"...

Can I wear this?

For a summer wedding (in a posh garden, with a bbq supper).

Without meaning any offence whatsoever.....I don't think it would look great on someone with your stats.

It's very pretty but imo would only look good on someone relatively tall and slim.

Sorry Sad

eugenefitzherbert · 18/05/2011 16:56

I say yes but then I am 5'3 size 16-18 and have been know to wear a maxi so maybe I am not the most reliable judge.........

MadameCastafiore · 18/05/2011 16:56

No it will make you look like a big square thing!

Sorry.

I am a size 10/12 and 5'7" and still think I look a bit like a box when I am wearing a maxu dress - especially if have bit of a bloated tummy.

dexter73 · 18/05/2011 16:56

What sort of bra do you have to go with it? You would need a strapless one I imagine.

YouCantTeuchThis · 18/05/2011 16:59

no offence taken whatsover Grin

Although, I generally look like a biggish, squarish thing...

I somehow thought that the vaguely empire line may be good, as I looked good in my empire line wedding dress Grin and bridesmaid dress!!

lovely dress, I think it would look ok.

Can you order it or go to the shop and try it on?

ChessPiece · 18/05/2011 21:32

I would have thought the black top and that particular design would be quite slimming actually. Gorgeous dress. Worth trying on imo.

Onmyhighchairhorse · 18/05/2011 21:37

Well you could. Its a nice dress. I think it might actually look pretty good and very flattering - as long as ( and be honest) you can get the tit support sorted and it drapes rather than stretches over the hips. If the pattern gets distorted you will look like bad tribal art.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 18/05/2011 21:39

This may not be a popular opinion but actually I think apart from model figure people then erm fat people (sorry but at 5'3 and 16-18 you must be fairly curvy) with good boobs are the other people who can carry off a maxi dress as they can fill it. Anyone inbetween looks like they are hiding a pregnancy.

YouCantTeuchThis · 21/05/2011 08:39

have ordered it to try...shame I am hours, miles and multiple ferry rides away from any clothes shops!
