Also preferably not in such a pale colour, although I would like a fairly neutral one ? nude or pale grey or somesuch. Criteria are: long, chunky, cotton or cotton mix.

If it says handwash, I usually bung it in a pillowcase, tie with a elastic band, put it on a low wash and say a little prayer to the God of washing machines! Usually works!

I've had too many things shrink with that method, and I've got long arms and legs so cannot afford any shrinkage. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who communes with the washing-machine god though
