Light blue denim - always naff??

Just contemplating my summer wardrobe and wondering if all light blue denim jeans, cropped or otherwise, are naff, or only stonewash. Can't decide.

S and B experts' views welcomed.

I don't like them, I have no good reason why, so I am not much help. Bump.

Oh I got some lovely distressed very faded rolled up skinnies from zara and love them - very flattering too.

polyhymnia · 14/05/2011 00:08

Thanks - distressed sounds more tempting ... . Any more views? Bump.

I would say a pair of 70s flared jeans in light blue denim would look good with the right shirt/top, say something white, broderie anglaise or suchlike.

Otherwise no, but can't really put my finger on why.

my sister has a lovely pair of very faded distressed 7 for all mankind boyfriend style jeans, they are lovely.

Mmm, I think it's crystallising for me - distressed can be good, jeans which are just plain light blue not so much.

Other way round IMO - I have some not-too-tight pale blue Levis skinnies, they are ace in the summer with nice flat sandals and a floaty white top. Distressed pale denim looks 1990s-ish and can look cheap and mutton-ish. I like River Island and Diesel for distressed jeans but only in rich or dark blues.

Right - see what you mean - it's getting even more confusing, perhaps I'll just stick to my faithful dark washes and black (and white, which I do like ...).

am reading with interest as I have a pair of pale blue flared jeans at the bottom of my jeans pile which I bought from Top Shop 8 years ago. I can't bear to part with them as they are beautifully soft and very flattering (low rise, close fit through the thigh and gently flared from knee) but haven't actually worn them for the last 6 years Blush.

I was thinking of trying them again this summer and teaming with Hasbeens or flip flops and a simple loose-cut v neck tee or a close fitting white linen top for a 70's summer vibe.

Or am I delusional Confused

tulpe wedges, nice jewellery and yy to your top half plans and your flares are bang up to date Smile

Aha! I have several pairs of wedges so that's brilliant news :) Nice to know my sartorial compass wasn't way off the mark!

Can I add 'IMO' to my previous post? Blush at telling you how to wear your own clothes you already love! Jeans that make you look good are never out of fashion.
