I am sick of dithering and I want to get on and do something else!

It's between this one: www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Accessories/Bags/AM137/Womens-Slouchy-Buckle-Bag.html

and this one: www.brora.co.uk/Product/Product.aspx?WebShopCodeStr=S1&WebSegmentCodeStr=S5&WebCategoryCodeStr=ZC&StyleCodeStr=AM007#

First one for me. Very nice.

thank you whyme - so helpful to have another opinion! Will wait another ten minutes and see if anyone else comes along

I'd not chose either! I like them both but the slouch bag would drive me nuts because it doesn't have any structure so everything would just be a mess inside and finding keys would be horrendous! That might just be me having huge amounts of stuff in my bag though!

I'd not buy a suede bag again as it marks really easily, even with protector spray.

madammecholet · 12/05/2011 19:19

I agree with gregssausageroll although I wouldn't buy Boden as you'll see someone else with the same one, and I hate that. The Brora one just doesn't look that special, plus suede can look 'old' really quickly.

What are you looking for in a bag? I bought this recently and I am in love with it. Have raved about it before on here....yawn... but tis lovely.Grin

Give me a budget, colour, size etc and I can have a rummage. I like bags.

faustina · 12/05/2011 19:51

thank you madamecholet! I do like your bag very much

ok - so I did a handbag cull last year and I find I'm missing something - casual - a bit more summery perhaps? At the moment I have two longchamps le pliage - black and khaki, and an oak bayswater, and then two more little mulberry cross body bags in black, and that's it!

I want something slouchy and squishy and not shiny, in a neutral colour that I can wear with both black and brown and lighter neutral colours. I don't like big gold/silver/dangly bits, and I don't think I want structured, and I suppose my budget is up to a couple of hundred - I don't want to pay mulberry prices!

I do like big (ish) - not tiny anyway!

thanks very much - will have a look at them all!

madame cholet has excellent taste... and please don't get any more le pliage bags

honestly something cheap n cheerful is better than that. Be unpredictable. I have a Longchamps Roseau in black mock croc myself, but it doesn't make my heart sing anymore.

faustina · 13/05/2011 07:52

the thing is they are so light - but I do know what you mean and I agree. I am bored. the last five years are littered with expensive handbag mistakes, now all got rid of - grrr! I never used to have this problem! A quick trip up to london and bob was my uncle for the following year or so. It's very frustrating.

anyway - madamecholet does have excellent taste, and I have spent a very interesting time looking through her links. Unfortunately none of them are quite IT - or at least some of them might be, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. There is a TKMaxx about an hour away from me - maybe I will go and try a few on. I would quite like to try some by Mimi Berry too, and perhaps peony and moore

I am endlessly grateful for all the help, and any more suggestions would be wonderful!

Thanks chuck & faustina....kind words indeed.....i've had to spend an awful lot of money on bags to hone down my taste over the years...Grin
