False Eyelashes ??

I need some false eyelashes for a show I'm doing next week. I have never worn them before.

Any top tips ? Brands to try ? Will need to wear them for 5 nights in a row. Supposed to be the 60's look but not fancy dress.

I await your wisdom Wink

I have heard the Girls Aloud ones (from Superdrug) are supposed to be good. i don't wear them myself but friends have.

You could get semi permanent ones applied? Dunno how expensive they are tho. Would save you the bother of putting them on each night yourself.

Eyelure lashes are cheap and good. I think they make the Girls Aloud ones but not sure... The key to getting them to stick is to apply the glue on the lash strip and then wait until you think it will be too dry to stick before applying it. It gets messy when you try and apply the lash strip when you have used too much glue or it is still too wet.

I use liquid liner to hide the join.

You can in theory reuse the lashes, but they tend to get messy with mascara etc so you might need more than one pair for five nights.

I just read a review of this in stylist and wondered about giving it a go. Got good reviews.

Otherwise I've also heard good things of the girls aloud ones but not had an occassion to try them yet.

I had these recentlyish, was a bit expensive I thought (maybe £70?) but they looked great - probably too subtle for the stage but they can pile them on if you want, I think, I just had the least possible.

I got the GA Sarah Harding ones and they look v glam. I was pants at putting them on until I went to a MAC counter and was taught how to. basically like someone said, apply glue then WAIT! and once in place leave well alone for a good 5 mins (I do my lips/hair then) before applying eyeliner/mascara to blend.

Also think the Duo glue MAC sell (can be bought on eBay etc) is a lot better than the crappy little tubes that come free with lashes.
