Are fascinators still naff?

Smart wedding in Scotland this summer. DP and I are planning to make a Highland road trip of it. Thing is, we have a 2-seater car with a tiny boot, and if we're both packing wedding outfits it'll be a straight choice between my packing a hat and either of us being able to bring a change of underwear

Yes the are and will be forevermore. They scream 'lack of style'.

I read those commentators who said fascinators were back as well. But I'm just not quite sure I believe it.
