... what is the best thing to use??

This is driving me mad now. Its not hair, its just darker skin. It looks worse when I have been in the sun.

Is Fade Out worth a go? Make up doenst cover it.

Thanks.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation. A few zaps should clear it.

Wear sunblock, it't the sun that makes it darker.

How about Jolene cream? Used for bleaching one's 'tache, but would prob lighten the skin a little?

yeovalleyrocks · 12/05/2011 08:40

Yeah, it does seem a lot worse since I have been in the sun. It looks bloody awful. No one has said anything but I hate to think people think I need a shave!

I will at both of those products. I guess its trial and error.

I had this and make up just made it worse. By the end of the summer I looked like I had an orange tash! Blush

It disappeared when I came off the pill.

Have you had a baby recently? I developed a similar thing after my first pregnancy and it then got worse after my second. It's faded a bit and, assuming it's hormonal, I live in hope that it will fade further along with my linea nigra. In the meantime, I threw myself on the mercy of Space NK and came away with some Laura Mercier concealer that, when well blended, does the job for me.

The Space NK lady also mentioned various serums that are supposed to help fade pigmentation lines. If my line doesn't fade sufficiently I'll probably look into them.

I've got this! I now use a factor 50 sunblock on even vaguely sunny days and it's definitely much better.

QueenLaQueefer · 12/05/2011 11:03

I have this atm.

I didn't think the sun would be making it worse, but now you mention it it has been getting worse in the last few months. I have a mirena coil too.

Isn't it called the "mask of pregnancy"? I recall a nasty piece in the Daily Fail about Kirsty Alsop having it just after she'd had a baby.Angry

I have a large patch of it on my forehead too - looks like merging freckles. I don't mind that one so much as I am freckley anyway. Aldi have a complete facial sunblock in atm which is rather good.

yeovalleyrocks · 13/05/2011 09:15

I have 2 dd's - The eldest is nearly 3 and the youngest 15 months. I have never had it before.

I googled it and saw the article about Kirsty. In a way its nice to know that I'm alone IYSWIM.

I have started putting dd's factor 50 just on my upper lip when Im out and will give Fade Out a try.

Thanks everyone. I am hoping it go and that is just down to hormones from dd's. Im not taking a pill so not sure what else it could be.

I have pigmentation on my cheeks. I have been using fade out for a week now and some of the pigmentation has faded I think it is supposed to take about four weeks to make a difference. I have made an appointment to see my doctor about it as well to see if there is anything they can prescribe.

Zondra · 13/05/2011 16:06

I suffer from this,too.
So, annoying! 3 years ago, it appeared for the first time on holiday.
Was horrified!
Think it's an age thing with me as I'm not on the pill or recently given birth.
Would love to get some recommendations for a tinted sunblock. Havn't found anything really good.

Ponds make a cream called Flawless white. It is cheap and effective. There is also a facial wash.

yeovalleyrocks · 16/05/2011 14:03

Well, I started using Fade Out on Saturday and it has made a diffference already. Im hoping that after another 4 weeks it will be a lot better.

I am going to be very careful when Im in the sun now and make sure that I always apply factor 50 my upper lip only.

Hi, I have started getting dark spots too and am looking for something to help get rid of them. Are you using Fade Out day or night or both? (just googled it as have never heard of it before)

yeovalleyrocks · 18/05/2011 10:43

Im using the Fade Out day cream only. I put it on in the morning and at night.
