Xen Tan... it's shit really, isn't it?

OK, so I had convinced myself that Xen Tan was a good fake tan. Probably because it doesn't smell as bad as other fake tans. However, yesterday I exfoliated thoroughly, put a small amount of body lotion on feet and elbows, then applied 3 liberal coats of Xen Tan at 2 hour intervals.

The result? Well, I have woken up this morning not at all brown, but with a decidedly green tinge to my skin. I showered - thoroughly - and I still look green. Even my DH who doesn't notice anything ever, said "fucking hell, you're green".

Has anybody else had this happen to them? Thanks Smile

I haven't had the green experience yet but I would agree that its not as good as its cracked up to be. I bought it last year as it was supposedly the bees knees but to be honest its no better or worse than stuff you can get for half the price.

So, what are you using now Sparkle, if you don't mind me asking?

have given up temporarily on the fake tan / gradual tan but I have just been out and bought some of the fake tan that is instant and washes off in the hope that that may be better for me ? Have got the Rimmel Sunshimmer one and an Garnier Ambre Solaire (i think) one as well. Have yet to try either tho at the minute.

BAB - usually a green tinge when you use fake tan is due to having something on your skin that has reacted with it. The tan I use, goes greeny black if you have underarm deodorant on and tan that area. Had you used anything like strong soap or shower gel before doing the tan?

Other than its just a shit brand of tan Grin

I quite like Rimmel Sunshimmer Instant Tan, tbh. Easy to apply if you're brave enough when you see it coming out of the pump dispenser!

and Lidl's tan tip of the day is get a mobile spray tan person to do you. its WAAAAY better than home tans (but I cant always afford this Grin )

Funnily enough Lidl, I was thinking of buying one of those tent things and the spray thing and asking my DH to spray me a couple of times a week. It might spoil the mystery, though. I dunno, what do you think? I was looking at this:
