I've been having highlights since was a teenager and have had same hair dress for about 10yrs and I get a bit nervous even when she puts a vaguely different shade of blonde into the mix BUT have decided would like to try going back to my natural colour as kind of fed up of getting roots, but also (weirdly) fancy a change.....

Could you have a look at my profile pics, you'll see my roots are the natural colour so I'll be that all over..... Anyway will all the clothes/colours that I wear now still suit me???? Think am panicking slightly!!!!

Is it accurate to say your highlights are more golden and your roots are more ash?

It's a little hard to tell from your pictures but you'll probably be fine . . . unless you find your urge for a change extends to clothes too.

My highlights are as quite golden-y know my hairdresser uses light as can go without bleach and natural is actually medium/dark brown..... So quite a big difference (for me anyway!!!)..... You're right though the pics are a bit rubbish colour wise!!

Always have half head of highlights and noticed how nice and dark and shiny the 'virgin' hair under at the back is and thought would be nice to have lovely shiny hair all over!!! Am so change-averse though the whole thing makes me anxious, called the hairdresser today and she made me laugh, said "its only hair, we can change it if you hate it and I'll have wine chilled ready for your apt" she's officially fab!!!!
