How to get freebies?

I'm going to a department store on Friday, where they have Nice Make up, for the first time in years. I like Nice Make up, but can't afford it.

How do I get free samples, without looking like I'm just trying to get free samples, and what in particular might I want?

You just ask... say you're considering buying it but wouldn't do so without testing it out first.
I'd never buy makeup without a tester first- just money down the pan!

If they get uppity with you just ignore them. It's their job- and it's only Frasers (the worst laid out shop in Glasgow!)

It has to be Frasers as I'm going to the Yo Sushi there for lunch, and also to try on bags and shoes that I will not be buying.

If you can afford to eat at Yo Sushi you're probably getting paid more than they are

Although try telling that to me in Topshop. Just looking at the window makes me feel inadequate!
