Ballet flats in silver - naff or 'on trend'

as the title suggest - I do not have a clue..... any help gratefully received. I would like to buy some ballet flats probably in red, but was slightly taken with some silver ones but seeing as I do not possess a fashionable bone in my body , I thought I would put it to the MN jury. Thanking you in advance...

I think silver would be a useful, relatively neutral but stylish colour.

I love these Blochs in silver, for example.

have you got a link to the pair you spotted?

TrillianAstra · 08/05/2011 00:03

I've just trashed a pair (walking on sand and generally wearing them a lot) so will be buying another pretty soon.

Don't give a shit if they are "on trend" but they feel less matchy-matchy (or deliberately clashy) than colours and much less boring than black or brown.

My last pair were approximately like this.

I loved my silver flats, went with everything without being dull or matchy. Trashed them Blush

were oasis ones from tkmaxx

I've just bought Pewter ballerina's and I love them...

I've also got a pair of pewter ones, they go with everything. And the best bit is they were price marked £4 in Primark, but actually came up as £2.90 Grin.

I'd say silver and pewter footwear are wardrobe basics as they go with nearly everything.
Just saw a pair of pewter flats on one of those really moneyed and stylish women who run their own charities.

Also love them - great summer 'neutrals'. My Boden ones from last year have just worn out so I've bought a pair of Pretty Ballerinas in a dullish (ie not shiny) silver and a subtle snake print texture. Not boring and definitely not naff. Those Bloch ones gorgeous too.

I had some pewter ones last year from Clarks and literally wore them until they fell to pieces. I would only buy leather ones though, as I don't like the look of the fake ones and I think they look scuffed v quickly.

Lipstickgal · 08/05/2011 22:28

I think they are gorgeous.

thank you - wasn't able to reply as was working yesterday. The pretty ballerinas are lovely - not sure I want to spend £149...normally live in converse or birkies. I will investigate further!
