Do they really work?

If so how is sizing and I'd prefer to wear hold ups or tights which I take it can go on top?

I like Jl own brand control knickers. A lot cheaper too. You buy your usual size

If anyone else answers, I was looking at the ones that come right up to your bust line - do they stay up or roll down?

The spanx higher power stay up very very well - I've tried lots and they are the only ones that work for me!

But how comfortable are they? Do they make you feel like you've been squeezed into a sausage skin?

They are very good, give a nice smooth line and add shape. I find mine is very comfortable, they stay up really well. As for looking sausage like....only if you lift your top/skirt to show your spanx off

very good idea! Altho dont know about lycra content of theirs. JL ones soo full of stretch really hold you in

The proper spanx are actually very breathable - they don't seem to make me feel sweaty (which I would have expected them to TBH!) They certainly aren't designed for seduction but I don't find them remotely uncomfortable to wear though.

They also have a (whispers) pee-hole....makes life a leetle easier!

I am a bit scared of the pee hole though...I take mine down to wee but yes, they don't make me hot at all. I wore mine to a summer wedding on a hot day and was fine.

Don't buy any very cheap versions, I got some for £4 and the top kept rolling down and I felt like my internal organs were being compressed. Go for the proper ones or John Lewsis version.
