If you had £100 to spend on a work handbag, what would you choose?

My cats ruined both my handbags - and yes, I realise I shouldn't have left them on the ground [kicks self, twice]. So I need a bag to use for work, but preferably I don't want to spend too much.

I usually wear black / grey suits, but have in the last week or so bought some brighter stuff for summer. Office style formal, if that makes a difference.

I know most people have a couple, but I'm really too lazy to unpack every night, so would be willing to go for something "good enough" vs perfect.

Thank you so much!

I like this M&S mini bowler, but it's too small.

I also really like this brown hobo bag, but suspect too casual.

Any slightly more formal ones that doesn't look like this one with funny zip?

I'd get along to TK Maxx as they have an amazing selection of bags. Or take a look at Modalu - if you spend another £30 or so, you could get something fab.

MisSalLaneous · 07/05/2011 20:23

Or otherwise any good sites you would recommend? Having a sale at the moment would be even better.

I love this pink peony and moore one, but double my budget.

for answers emoticon

cross-posts. Thanks tigerbear, I'll have a look at Modalu now.

I hate TK Maxx (the hassle and queues), but there is one nearby, so I should probably go and look tomorrow if no luck online tonight. Thanks.

This?

This?

This?

Only £60 over budget.... Wink

MisSalLaneous · 07/05/2011 20:31

Not keen on first (too many colours), or third (not sure why), but love your over-budget one! Hmm. Second one ok, but I worry that I might get fed up with it relatively quickly. Trying to justify over-spend...

That Modalu site also looks good, am browsing now and will ask for more opinions soon. Please continue posting options, it's really helping in getting my head around what I don't really like. I hate shopping in shops, so often end up taking whatever's ok-enough at the point where I get hungry fed up.

Ps: Thanks tethersend, I do have some manners, really. I just hide them well.

Slightly sidetracked: What's with the sunglasses cases??

Love this modalu bristol one, but it's out of stock until late June. I really like the colour.

Any opinions on the pinkish bibi one?

On colour - is it workable to have one colour to go with black, grey, emerald (ok, pink won't work there anyway), reddish etc? Or should I get one "proper" one and another cheapish (i.e. not leather) one to go with some colours?

TK Maxx is online too now - here so no need to face the hassle of going into store.

MisSalLaneous · 07/05/2011 22:45

Thanks Winetimeisfinetime. :)

Some nice things in the Oushka sale - here

MisSalLaneous · 07/05/2011 23:14

Ooh, that Oushka sale is good. Not for work, but love this barnaby in grey for casual. Also like the green, but grey probably goes with more.

Thanks for links, I'll have a look a bit later - currently I have a 3-year old attempting to "pow!!" me, so guess I have to go and do some running around in the park! Thanks very much!
