Going to a pub gig tonight. What to wear?

I am hugely over thinking this, am sure

DH and I are off to see some live music in a pub this eve. Tis the Haymakers in Cambridge if anyone knows it.

My first thought was red skinny jeans, navy tee, scarf and flats.

Am now having a bit of a wobble as realise am no longer a student and perhaps 40 year old women should make more of an effort .

Think I am having an issue with the fact that usually if I am going out on a Saturday it means dressy outfit and heels.

How did it go? I hope you went for the skinny jeans as a dress and heels is probably a bit over the top.

No, that sounds great! You could always add some jewellery, then if it's too much you can slip it into your bag. You don't want to be overdressed at the pub, so you're quite right :)

The last time we went to live music in a pub I wore a denim skirt and felt very overdressed!

After spending half an hour in my dress and leggings (with flats) whilst I did hair and make up......I did a quick change before leaving into my red skinnies and tee. Was perfect. Really must learn to trust my gut instinct!
