Need help for hair colour!

Right, I have brown hair and I'd like to make it a little bit darker/richer (maybe with a tiny bit of red, but not too much).

I don't want to use anything permanent (have made that mistake once before!) so that kind of limits what I can use I guess.

I've used Clairol Nice 'n' Easy "Medium Brown" before - no change to my hair colour at all, so I guess my hair colour is medium brown.

Anyone used something they liked that they can recommend?

What about some lowlights then its not an all over colour and if you hate it you can always colour over it. You can get some good home kits but you will have to get somone to help if you are doing it yourself. I have found john freidas colours are quite good.

I was looking at John Freida's stuff online last night, actually, and really like the look of the colours. Going shopping today so will pick something up!
