Have the urge to go spend in boots. Wanting done gorgeous new products to make me feel more gorgeous and well-groomed in summer. Always a hard season for me as soon pale and freckly. I'm up got spending up to 35 pounds in anything really special but would like some bargains too if possible. And am particularly lacking in lipstick or lipgloss! Suggestions gratefully received.

Oh hating iPhone typos! Sorry. Obviously I mean your make up bag and up for spending and so pale etc etc. Am not really completely illiterate, honest.

Revlon dark brown eyeliner which self sharpens (it's a bit like a propelling pencil) slightly kohl like but a little more defined.

Lipstickgal · 06/05/2011 12:49

I love COllection 2000 eye liners. They are the sort that never need sharpening as they twist up. Stay put too.
Re lipsticks I like Revlon for staying power.

One? ONE?

But for lips - LOVE the new Chanel rouge coco lipshine. Boy might suit you - medium-light pink with slight peachy/golden sheen. Very flattering and it is a fabulous formulation.

I have very fine blonde eyebrows and this is the best product I've ever tried.

I just got Avon mineral powered foundation this morning. Really impressed, super light for summer but still decent coverage

A propos of the Chanel lip thingy...does anyone know what colour the model in the tv ad is wearing? Her lips just kind of look lip coloured but more so.
That's the colour I want!

MrsSeanBean · 06/05/2011 12:57

Not seen TV ad, but in the magazine ads for the Rouge Coco lipstick (with Vanessa Paradis) I believe she is wearing the shade 'Coco'.

MrsSeanBean · 06/05/2011 12:59

blue2711 - if you're off on a Boots spree, I would recommend Lancome Laque Fever - a lip gloss which lasts and is not too sticky. Lancome Artliner is another item I rely on heavily (NB do not work for Lancome!), as is Benefit Browzings.
That adds up to more than £35 though... :(

Bumperlicioso · 06/05/2011 13:07

I recommend well rested concealer

aquavit · 06/05/2011 13:10

the shade in the coco shine (different from rouge coco) magazine ad is Boy and I think that is what they were using in all the campaigns

it is amazing - very MLBB (my lips but better) as they say on makeupalley Grin

you do have to reapply though (mind you can do it sans mirror as is foolproof)

Bucharest · 06/05/2011 13:12

Ooooh right, fab, thankyou!

aftereight · 19/05/2011 10:42

I have similar colouring to you. My top bargain amazing product this year is the Garnier roll on anti-dark circles. I have given up my touche eclat and chanel foundation as it looks even better!

brighthair · 19/05/2011 10:48

Not Boots, but ASDA (George) eyebrow pencil in blonde is fantastic, and cheap

My #1 item, being the item that I owuld choose if I were only allowed that and nothing else, is mascara.

Using Clinique High Impact at the moment as it is nice and waterproof/smudge proof.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 19/05/2011 11:06

I've just disvovered Clinique Moisture Surge tinted moisturiser and it's lovely.

So very pleased.

Thank you MN.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 19/05/2011 11:07

Oh and obviously I agree with Trills re massacre being exceedingly important.

If I have nothing else at all to use I could not be without Body shop - lip and cheek stain. I LOVE it. Just a dab on each cheek (blended in) and run it over my lips - As I'm a bit pale it instantly gives me that 'english rose' look! It lasts for ages too!
