Does anyone know? And also, should I worry about my order placed? Shock

Thanks!

I don't know but my guess is that the OP was doing a bit of advertising. She posted on several threads yesterday pushing D in a D dresses as the solution to various S&B questions.

Am also hoping there's no problem with the orders as I placed one too. However the email I got back from the company seemed OK. And the sale is still advertised on their website.

MisSalLaneous · 06/05/2011 12:13

Ah, thanks Sariska. Well, if that is the case I don't mind at all - I loved the dresses I bought, and the price was good. I just sort of panicked when it disappeared altogether!

Was wondering too. They are a well known company though so I'm sure orders will be fine. At least I hope so.

Merrylegs · 06/05/2011 12:46

I thought it was because the OP was advertising. It was pretty obvious by the x at the end of her posts!

However it was a good sale and I think it is all legit - I ordered through the company's website rather than the link OP posted just to be sure.

Would it be possible to have confirmation that it was advertising related MNHQ, just in case we have been scammed and our cc details are now in the PS3 network or something? Thank you!

MisSalLaneous · 06/05/2011 12:57

True, winefairy.

Merrylegs, I think that is a good idea - please, MNHQ? When I saw it this morning, I wanted to know whether to contact my bank to stop payment.

Agree. Can we have a little confirmation MNHQ? I actually ended up ordering over the phone as the site was frustratingly slow. Seemed all legit but would like reassurance as to why the thread disappeared.

MisSalLaneous · 06/05/2011 13:09

I'm going to report my post above to flag it up with MNHQ.

Any news from MNHQ

NanAstley · 06/05/2011 14:52

I just got an email saying my order has been dispatched, so fingers crossed it's all above board.

MisSalLaneous · 06/05/2011 14:58

No, nothing yet, gothicmama. I have reported my post, so was hoping they'll see it soon. Maybe they're very busy or something.

NanAstley, that sounds good.

i got email as well confirming what I wanted was being sent - I am sure it is OK.. and to be honest, if it all works, I will be happy that the OP did post as I got some fab clothes!

MisSalLaneous · 06/05/2011 15:32

Same as you (about being happy), ZZMum. I can understand MNHQ's action if about advertising though, otherwise the normal advertisers won't want to pay if they could do it for free, I guess.

OP posts:
ZZMum · 06/05/2011 16:33

yes you are right - I should think big picture rather than go "oooh pretty dresses" !!!!

MisSalLaneous · 06/05/2011 16:37

Just got dispatch e-mail too, so I guess at least that part is fine.

KeepCalmAndCurryOn · 06/05/2011 18:04

Me too.

I don't regard throwing us great, big, fat discounts as advertising.

HelenMumsnet · 08/05/2011 16:53

@MisSalLaneous

True, winefairy.

Merrylegs, I think that is a good idea - please, MNHQ? When I saw it this morning, I wanted to know whether to contact my bank to stop payment.

Gosh, really sorry to see no one got back to you about this before now. Blush

But please rest assured there was nothing really serious going on - it was just that the OP was clearly someone from Damsel in a Dress who was unaware of our rules about not advertising or promoting companies for free on the main discussion boards. We have since mailed them to explain things nice and clearly Smile

Apols once more for keeping you wondering for so long.

MisSalLaneous · 08/05/2011 18:23

No worries Helen, thanks for confirming! :)
