I need to start packing for my honeymoon, two weeks in Mauritius and I can't get my head round what I need to pack, can someone write me a list including everything that I can print out and pack... Sorry and thank you x x

Put out all the clothes you would like to take and try to mix and match outfits for the evenings.

Swimwear
suncream
flipflops
sarong
sunglasses
toiletries

There I've made a start.

I was going to add a good book but maybe you will have other things to do. Grin

Are you lazing by the pool for 2 weeks or are you hiking, diving....

celticlassie · 05/05/2011 18:49

Use this. Not quite so good for clothes but deals with everything else.

Karbea · 06/05/2011 11:29

Lots of lazing, that site is good but bit rubbish for clothes...

Come on girlies!!!

Is it a luxurious resort? You may need to be quite dressy in the evenings for dinner.

Never been to Mauritius but went to the Maldives earlier this year doing the lazing around being romantic thing Wink. I took:

daytime:
5 bikinis (excessive for a week but I had a tummy tuck last year :o )
kaftan
2 beach dresses
1 pair shorts
vest tops
flip flops

evening:
maxi dresses x 2
knee length jersey dresses - 1 x draped, 1 x one-shoulder and the other with thin straps

Accessories:
a large wrap (Maldives is muslim country so wanted to be able to cover up where necessary)
a couple of pendants (1 silver, 1 gold)
a few bangles
gold strappy flat leather sandals

The vest & shorts didn't even get worn but took them on the advice of MNers who suggested them as good option for any boat trips etc.

Despite it being a luxury resort, it was so relaxed and most people wore nice but casual clothes. It was deemed a "barefoot resort" so it was rare even to see people in flip flops, tbh. At breakfast and lunch most women were wearing a nice beach dress/kaftan over their bikinis but still managed to look polished - very low-key glam.

Personally, I don't do heels on holiday - I always feel way overdressed in them in the heat and I think flats look just as glam.
