<Wibble> I think I should have my hair cut, but how?

I caught sight of myself from the back in a shop mirror the other day, and my hair is looking a bit disgusting.
The front looks ok (imo) but the back seems to separate so there is just one straggley tail thing hanging down in the middle.

It's quite fine, and much too long I suppose. (I do get it trimmed though)

The trouble is, I need my hair as a security blanket.
What style could I get that is an actual style, and still longish?

If that makes any sense?!

Very grateful for any help. Smile

I've just had 13 inches cut off my hair. I feel very odd. But it's quite freeing. Still have a long bob though.

What's your hair like other than fine? Can you have layers? Do you have a fringe? Do you wear it down a lot?

13 inches! Wow must feel really different. Are you glad you did it?

I have a long (growing out) fringe. And growing layers out too.
I also have a slight wave in it, which I tent to straighten out.

I think if it was shorter it would be possible to leave it curlyish, but at the moment it looks like I dragged myself through a bush if I leave it.

*tend! Doubt a tent would be any use on it.

Really glad. I had fallen into a trap of either tying it up out of the way (it's so hot atm) or just plaiting it. Leaving it down was getting annoying and it was starting to look a bit straggly. And I have nice hair, it wasn't doing it justice.

It's still long enough to tie up and style but easy enough that I can blow dry it or leave it and it looks fine, if slightly curly. No work needed. I have a slight wave too but can't have layers or I look like a bush that should be hidden with a tent.

How long is it? Mine is now just on my shoulders but I have some shorter bits framing my face. If I blow dry it whilst flicking the ends it looks sort of bouncy or I can curl the ends under to make it look sharper. It's a lot more versatile than it was. There's not a huge amount you can do with really long hair short of layers and an interesting fringe.

That's the most I've every said about hair in one go.

I like the sound of yours- I'd like it long enough to still wear up sometimes.

Just put a pic on my profile for a little while- it's one my DD says makes me look like a villain plotting to take over the world (because of my eyes and I'm wringing my hands) but it's the only one that shows the length!

And I'm flattered that my thread was the one you shared the most about hair on Grin

Good 'mwahahahaha' picture. Is it before you hit the big red button? You're too pretty for a villain though.

I wouldn't go for as short as mine tbh. I think if you went for a few inches below your shoulders with some framing round the front, maybe a long fringe sweeping into the rest of your hair. Like this but a wee bit longer.

Ooh I really, really like that.
I like the colour round the front too, though I'd go for a lighter version.

Look at me trying to run before I can walk- not even had the nerve to cut it yet, and I'm already mentally colouring it too.

Thankyou, have saved it to keep looking at!
