What do you epilate?

Just got my first one! Half price from Argoose. So, will use it on legs. But also seen on MN some people use them on their armpits?

What about fore arms? Mine are a weensy bit hairy (am I sounding like a bear, yet?) could I do my arms or will that end up as a hideous experiment gone wrong?

I do legs and barely notice any discomfort. Armpits too but you'll need to brace yourself for this
Forearms are moderately painful but just grit your teeth and press fairly firmly with the epilator as you go. TBH I rarely do arms as getting less and less hairy now. Oh, and I have a go at my bikini line sometimes and I find that fairly easy to bear too. I have been doing it since time in memorial though. Good luck!

Well I only got mine a few weeks ago. Did bikini line first. IMO was no where near as painful as waxing! Did all of legs-grand.
I did my underarms a few days later-was waiting for re-growth,and have to say it is definitely eye watering! But only takes 2-3 seconds.

I do legs and armpits. And occasionally around the bikini line, if it needs a quick tidy up.

Ephiny · 05/05/2011 10:16

I do legs, armpits and bikini line (just around the edges!). Wouldn't bother with forearms personally, but don't see why it wouldn't work.

Armpits hurt the first time, but it gets much better and not painful at all now.

Legs, nearly bikini line (but mine reaches my knees.) Not brave enough for armpits. Anyone any tips for order for ingrown hair solution/ moisturiser order of application? Or how to prevent hairs growing flat under the skin? Must say, am v pleased with my epilator and now my mum and sis have purchased too- v hairy family Blush

Legs easy. Armpits - first swipe hurts but then fine. Bikini - tried it a few times, but sooo bloody painful I think I'd need an anaesthetic really.

Indith · 05/05/2011 12:48

I do legs and bikini line no problem but have not been able to do armpits at all, I've tried several times and it was horrible, horrible, horrible so I've given up.

Hi

Can I hijack a bit, I just bought one yesterday and it was an impulse buy, it was agony managed to do my legs and underarms, now I'm wondering can I keep this up. Has anyone ever used the 90 day money back guarantee I can hardly walk into boots and ask them to take it back because it hurt too much.

Does it get easier seriously???

Sorry op for adding in my queries hope you dont think I m being too rude

jamaisjedors · 05/05/2011 13:27

Lower part of legs (ie below the knee). I used to wax (10 years) so not that painful but top tip is to get it all waxed off first and then epilate a week later - much less to deal with.

If I leave it too long before epilating I get waxed instead.

giddybiddy · 05/05/2011 14:43

Just do legs, and not too bad, tho' have also waxed for years. Tried my bikini line and it looked like there were teethmarks on my inner thigh when I had finished..... slight problem holding the skin taut enough I suspect... never again!!

Toodlepip - The first is always the worst!
Maintenance - once it's all off is much easier as I find the hair grows back at different rates (therefore not a huge blanket covering to remove all at once).

Some areas have not grown back at all but not in a regular neat way - more of a camouflage pattern!

A glass of wine always helpsGrin

Thanks everyone for posts, I didn't think anyone would reply! Toodlepip, don't mind you hijacking the post, don't see why you can't return it, I sent dh back to Boots with a used electric breast pump as it didn't work as well as a manual pump!!!

Am going to start next weekend as want a non school night to go from bear to bare!

Legs, toes, fingers, hands and forearms is all I can bare.

I'm very hairy but have noticed it thinning a lot but have to do it every week.

bluebump · 06/05/2011 20:38

Ooh this is good, I have been thinking about getting an epilator so I don't end up shaving my legs every other day throughout the summer.
