capsule wardrobe for mums?

I'm a new mum and until DD was born (12 wks ago).... well until I got pregnant really, I had quite a nice wardrobe but tight fitting (size 8/10) and a bit trendy. Now I'm breastfeeding my old clothes either don't fit or just don't seem 'right.' I squeezed back into my old skinny jeans yesterday (which are all distressed looking and I'd normally wear them with heels...) and I just didn't feel like a 'mum.'
Then looked on the 'so what are we wearing' thread and there was loads of colour, lots of Boden and quite a bit of Gap. SO....what are the items of clothing you love wearing as a mum (no trackie bs please... I'm desperate to get out of mine!) What do you feel pretty, stylish, comfy and 'modern mum-esque' in....?
Oh btw I'm 5 ft 10 and leggy rather than busty

Dark indigo skinnies or straight leg jeans (I like Gap or Top shop)
Stripey fitted Tshirts (Zara) these
Silky blouse type tops for smarter (Oasis or Warehouse) like this
Jersey Boyfriend Blazer, soft comfy but smart looking, I have this
Boyfriends Cardigans when its cooler
Ballet pumps or gladiator sandals
Big slouchy leather handbag, big enough for loads of "stuff"
Nice scarves from River Island
Couple of pieces of statement jewellery

Well done on getting back into your skinnies! It's a bit of a tricky one with breastfeeding, but when I was stlll bf-ing mine I just lived in shirts and skinnies with a variety of scarves..... Post bf my wardrobe has become a bit more minimalist (fed up of having a wardrobe of clothes and nothing to wear....so had a huge edit!) I live in skinnies which I wear with boots/ballet pumps/converse, white/navy/ or Breton tops boyfriend blazer or boyfriend cardi. Works for me - blazer makes me feel well turned-out but still functional and I just add colour through tops and shoes and bags. I'm happy with it as it doesn't take much to "update" the look.........

I wear a lot of wrap dresses.
Ideal for bfing in.

Don't feel you have to change your style though. Wear what you like!

Two questions...1) what's a boyfriend cardigan and 2) nethunsreject where do you get your wrap dresses?

Long slouchy cardi, can be jersey or knitted, brilliant over skinnies EG

Get a few in different colours, look great over the stripey tops, accessorised with a nice scarf

Csemum, thank you for asking this question. I've lost my way a bit since having DS, but he's 1 now and there is no excuse for not being presentable anymore. Gillybobs your links are great and exactly what I'm looking for.

I am incredibly impressed you could get into your skinny jeans.

Wrap dresses - a lot second hand from ebay, laura ashley, boden. Also mantaray, new look. I'm sure you could get funkier ones though Wink! I've always been quite a conservative dresser.
