GAP sizes - help - in a hurry!

About to order some stuff from Gap. Are they true to size?

I'm a tall size 8 - 34c bust. Can anyone recommend whether that's a S or XS? The Gap size charts suggest S but normally in other shops such as Oasis and French Connection I'm an XS.

Any help appreciated. THanks.

Depends on the items. I'm 5' 2", 32d, size 8 and I ususally go for S unless its a dress then I'd go for XS.

TheBolter · 03/05/2011 12:50

OK thanks toast.

I'm really confused now!!

I'm a short size 8, with a 32c bust, and I mostly wear XS from Gap. That said, I think I have a few things which are S, and they're fine in size too.

TheBolter · 03/05/2011 13:15

Thank you Bramshott.

I am a 34C, and wear size 12 from most shops. I wear a small or medium in Gap.

I don't understand how one person can be a size 8, and another a size 12, but still wear the same size bra. I'm not exactly squeezing myself into one that's too small.

TheBolter · 03/05/2011 13:18

Thanks Butterbur - I'm actually a 32C (was confuzzled when I wrote the OP as I have it in my head that I'm a 34 - thought I was 34b for years then was measured properly!)

One shop said I was a 30D Hmm

Another shameless bump and if no further opinions I'm just going to order and cross my fingers!

Gap are huge. I am a large size 10 I'd say but am still XS

shefliesthrutheair · 03/05/2011 14:50

size 8 32 c

I wear a size S, unless it's a dress then, like toast, definitely an XS.

I'd say if you've got long limbs go for a S, if you're petite, go for XS.

TheBolter · 03/05/2011 14:53

Thanks peeps. The things I'm ordering are sleeveless / short sleeved so I'll risk an XS.

Ah I am 5ft 1 so maybe that explains it :o

carlywurly · 03/05/2011 15:59

Definitely get an XS, I'm a 5ft 7 size 12 and often wear Gap small. Their sizes are huge imo.

mewkins · 03/05/2011 19:44

depends what it is... I am a size 8 to 10 usually and get an xs is shirts etc that don't have much stretch but an S in knitwear and tshirts and vests.

Momentarynamechange · 04/05/2011 08:22

Can anyone tell me what equates to size 8-10 in Gap jeans. I don't know my waist measurement!

Momentarynamechange · 04/05/2011 08:22

Doh! Have just seen their Size Chart, as you were, sorry Grin
