Am I barking mad to buy a maternity dress when I'm not pregnant.....

And I'm not planning to be either!

I bought this dress recently: www.frenchconnection.com/product.aspx?categoryid=Woman%20Collections%20Dresses&productid=71EL5&seoterm=Wonder%20Wings%20Jersey%20Dress&&mscsmigrated=true in the blue version. Loved the pattern, but when it turned up there wasn't enough fabric in the skirt for it to sit right on me, and going up a size wouldn't have worked anyway. And it was VERY short on me.

Just discovered that Asos do a maternity version
www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1402268
Which is longer, and has more fabric at the front, which is exactly what I felt was wrong about the normal one for me.

I'm fairly good at sewing (and have a machine) so I would be able to adjust it to fit. So, would I be absolutely crazy to buy the maternity dress and then tweak it to fit me if needed? It has a small tie waist anyway but I could easily replace that with a thicker belt too.

DH thinks I'm barking mad, but I absolutely adore the fabric and really want a dress in it that fits me!

As long as it looks good, go for it.

I have a few maternity things that I still wear even though I'm not pg.
