My hair is dark brown(but probably 70% grey)I've just used B4 colour which took it to light orange colour.I then put on a semi permanent dark blonde on and it's now gone back to mid brown. How do I get it lighter like Jennifers colour?I don't want to be blonde but just a very light brown.

Thanks in advance

Thats exactly what i did. Used the b4 colour which made my hair go orangey (from choc brown) then put on a dark blonde and it went mid brown! My advice is to go to a hair dressers. Once it's darker it's very hard to go lighter again so they could maybe put in a few highlights for you. I always home colour my hair and it's never how i want it. I think i might treat myself to a trip to the hairdressers!

You need to wait a couple of weeks then have highlights, basically. You will never get Jennifer's colour without them - she has them.

If you weren't so dark I'd say try Loreal Recital Preference in Rimini but you probably wont get the lift - you might have root glow/carroty roots with greys poking through!

You basically want a light or medium light golden brown with bleach highlights if you are dark brown, to acheive JLo's effect.

Basically the colours you buy in shops are always darker than their name. I think you might need mid blonde. I dont know if I'd risk it at this point- hairdressers do have the expertise. Just to start you off perhaps?

Sorry to jump in but what exact colour of highlights would you say she has/

Love your taste btw, J Lo has fab hair!!

Caramel/toffee I'd say on the highlight front - they are certainly not mega bleach blonde

They may well be done with bleach and toned, depending how dark she is naturally

They could be achieved at home, if you are game.

Use a light to medium golden brown for your base colour, then get the Scott Cornwall highlighting cap "Foil effects", bleach powder with 30 proof peroxide, lift your highlights to a canary yellow, then do "true toning" with a medium golden blonde permenant colour (read the book that comes with the Scott Cornwall highlighting cap if you want more info - its brill)

Or go to a hairdresser (but spoil all the fun! Wink )

Tatty how do you know all this amazing stuff? Is your job related to beauty/ cosmetics? Rather than jewellery! A couple of times now I've been very impressed with your detailed instructions.

I really would go to a hairdresser if it's a Jennifer Lopez look you want. For the best results IMO you need more than one colour highlights to make it look right
