Wondering about what to ask a friend to get from USA from Sephora. Anyone have any super recommendations? My mind has gone blank! All I can think if is Nestle semi sweet choc chips!

I know there was a thread recently where lots of people gave ideas for a US shopping haul, but I cannot find it for love nor money

Love NARS and MAC. You can get them here but they are much cheaper in the USA.

mrsbumbledosem · 02/05/2011 09:58

ok good thanks elbow
much cheaper?
so a nars blusher is £18 over here and how much over there

Bare Escentuals. without doubt the best make u I have ever bought.

mrsbumbledosem · 02/05/2011 18:30

I love shoes thank you - I use Lily Lolo mineral foundation, which I prefer to Bare Escentuals - though I do think they do good blushers and mascara.

other thread here

Which OK, I started! But it was so useful and I came back with a stash of recommended goodies.

mrsbumbledosem · 02/05/2011 22:18

Oh yes thanks smartypants! What is your top of the list then? So far I've got cetaphil and Sonia k makeup brushes on my list

Smashbox-love it!

kitkatya · 02/05/2011 22:40

Im not convinced Mac is cheaper. Smash Box is and so is Bare Essecutials but I get confused by their make up!!

Can your friend get to a Target by chance? my friend has just bought me back some lovely bits from there.

Sonia Kushak make up brushes. They are fantastic as so cheap. The feel as good as Mac to me. Also, a lovely limited edition make up pallette. I havent got them on me but if your friend can get to a Target let me know and I will list what I got tomorrow.

Clinique in Sephora is half the price there.

kitkatya · 02/05/2011 22:43

crossed posted, the SK face pallette for $19.99 is divine, I think its a Spring edition if you google Target you will see it. Also the brow kit at £9.99 and then just ask her to get you some bits from the range. Im envious but happy with my own stash, for now Smile

ggirl · 02/05/2011 22:49

You must try Make Up Forever , they stock it in sephora, their hd foundation and blush is amazing as is their eyeshadow. I got some a few weeks ago in Canada but it's even cheaper in US
Difficult if someone is choosing for you though. Try looking on makeupalley for product recommendations.

ggirl · 02/05/2011 22:52

blush

mrsbumbledosem · 03/05/2011 13:45

Oh thanks Ggirl and kitkatya. Excellent reccomendations. I love the look of hd blush and will def get her to target! So mac not much cheaper -i won't bother then. Though I do like their cream concealer palettes.

the new gel eyeliner from Smashbox looks nice, I think its about £14 here. Nars and Mac only pennies cheaper, its not worth it. I did all my research before my friend went plus, I was there last year myself.

I hope she does get to a target for you. Sadly I never did as it was a city break.

mrsbumbledosem · 03/05/2011 13:59

Hmmm tempted but I've got too many gel eyeliners and I have to say mac is my favourite. Thanks for your tips kitkatya

One of the things I got and love. The mirror is massive. www.target.com/Sonia-Kashuk-Face-Palette-Awakenings/dp/B004INO6XM/ref=sc_ri_2?ie=UTF8&node=1084124 I also got the matching brushes that come in a woven basket type purse. They are better quality than anything you can get in the shops here.

I must admit if it was me that was there, I wouldve gone crazy for the brushes and probably brought the individual ones which are abit more expensive but, we cant expect too much of our friends!! Smile

mrsbumbledosem · 03/05/2011 19:11

Yes exactly. I'm working on getting get her to sephora and target but she's an important honcho type who has boring business stuff to do. Hmmmm.

That palette is lovely! Very wearable pretty colours. I cant stand jazzy palettes!

you should see the set of nudes, have a look, gives Bobbi Brown a run for her money!!

elbow82 · 04/05/2011 12:04

I bought some NARS powder for $20 in New York. I previously bought the same product in Selfridges for £22.
