Purple Maxi Dress for a wedding (guest). Accessories?

I've bought this dress to wear to a summer wedding.

I need something with sleeves for the service to wear over the dress and a hat and some shoes. And I suppose a bag to keep my lippy in.

And should I wear a necklace as the dress will leave my neck vair vair bare?

I'm in my late forties and don't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb.

I meant to say, thanks in advance to anyone willing to lend a hand.

What is the ring on the dress made of? If it's silver I would go with silver shoes and bag. It looks gunmetally though? Maybe grey accessories

I recently went into a hat shop and got a hat/fascinator the same colour as my dress and had them put in some feathers that were the colour or my accessories so you might be able to find a grey/silver hat and get some purply bits put in to match to the dress.

Ah yes thanks, good point about the ring on the dress. I don't actually have the dress in my possession yet. I ordered it from JL last week so not sure what the ring's made from.

I am thinking gold accessories as gold looks nice with purple. I've seen some nice Carvela wedge sandals in gold in John Lewis
and was thinking about a little gold coloured shrug, with sleeves?

But with a gold hat and bag, I'm worried I might look like one of the three wise men, come bearing gifts.

Arghhhh purple is quite difficult.

yes silvery grey would look better
unless you go for gold shoes and diff coloured shrug either to tone with the dress or something vibrant like fuschia or lime
depends how brave or colourful you want to be
could go with green/pink/orange/yellow....scary !

I love lime green with purple. It sounds awful but it's lovely (my living room!)

A cobalt blue would also be quite jarring but trendsetting. (Hello block colour!)

Ahh thanks, ladies for your ideas. I'm trying hard to resist a Berketex wedding outfit look.

I'll have a play with silver and gold and actually I love the idea of cobalt blue. I also like the idea of lime, but on someone else as it's a colour that makes me look really shoite.

I also bought a hot pink dress (v similar) and I love both.
