this dress It's out of stock in my size (14) has anyone seen anything similar? Also could it be worn by someone with a massive gut spare tyre and moderately big knockers (38DD)?

I think you may be right tmmj I have just measured under my bust is 34 inches around the biggest part of norks is almost 40 inches. What does that mean? and if I'm only a 34 inch chest, why do I often find a 38 inch bra too tight around my ribs?? I really don't want to fork out loads of money on a Bravissimo bra, aren't they really expensive?

The blue dress is dreadful for a wedding. Looks like a sarong.

The grey dress is lovely.

I agree with tmmj. I have been wearing a 36dd but the hooks are on the last hole since I have lost some weight. I went into John Lewis and tried on a 34dd but it was way too small. Shop told me I was more likely a 34 e or an f. I haven't been yet to get something fitted but will do soon.

Absolutely love the first dress, don't like the second one so much.

can i guide you to this thread re:bra's feel free to pm me for info if you like... Grin

Like them both tmmj and d73 although I prefer the darker colours of the monsoon one. I have never actually worn a maxi dress before, this is all new territory to me.

Aagh!! there isn't a Bravissimo within 80 miles of me. What about a fitting in a Debenhams? (or similar) That thread has me more confused especially the bit about pulling the tape measure tight around your ribs then adding 3 inches. That would make me a 37C.That is definately not right!!

Second fitting suggestions- john lewis good, bravissimo good, debenhams generally ok. M&S utterly atrocious. Before you go, have a look at the videos on the Bravissimo website that show what a proper fitting should be like. Gives you an idea of what should happen if it's done properly!

I'm going to guess at somewhere around a 34F

I like your last link, very pretty

coolkat · 02/05/2011 09:24

I have tried the Monsoon Meadow one and I am 34e, did not fit nice around my bust area. Was a lovely dress though but did not feel quite special enough.
