Do I want a perm?

Do hairdressers still do perms even?
My hair is dead straight, it's thick, but straight, and I hate it!
I don't get time to curl it every morning, and would love to have big waves (rather than a Kevin keegan perm :) )
Do hairdressers still do perms? If not what's the alternative - what shoudl I ask for?

I vote, "No" to the perm - it has to be done so so so so so so well to look good and then needs such a lot of after care to stay looking good.

Hmm, that what I thought carrots - I woudl be worried that I would turn into an 80's throwback and have to wear shoulderpads etc!

Grin

A friend of mine got one recently. She had beautiful hair and now it looks a mess. It is long too so it will take ages to grow out and she will have the awful half and half look for ages too.

Be grateful for your lovely thick locks and celebrate their straightness - you can curl them when you have time for a different look.

If you get big loose curls it won't matter when it grows out. Go for it! Doesn't need to be tight 80s curls.

nay nay and thrice nay Grin from someone who had perms throughout the 80s and quite recently Hmm

kalo12 · 30/04/2011 21:23

yes i think perms should make a come back. i hate straight hair

TheSmallClanger · 30/04/2011 21:38

Perms should not make a comeback. That look you get of curly hair with two inches of dead-straight roots is rubbish.
