Help me to find smart cropped black trousers.

Looking for a good quality pair of black (is it capri?) trousers. I'm 5,6 size 14/16 and my height is in my legs so often find that styles end up too short. Not crazy expensive as I want to wear them to work with nice cool floaty tops and wedges. Or any suggestions is this is NOT a good look, I don't want to look like polyester wearing cruise passenger of a certain age.

Yes, Gap cropped slim fit trousers are great, and not too short. Audry Hepburn-esque in length. Perfect.

Consider Annie's to be too flared at the bottom (judging from pic on link), think slimmer bottom of leg more flattering and professional in work setting.....

They're not really. Not sure why they look like that in the picture! Gap ones lovely but a bit short for me (5'11")

Ooh yes, would be more mid-calf on you Annie, I'm a good 5-6 inches shorter than you, and they skim above the ankle, which I like.....
