Make up essentials for (ahem) more mature skin!

I need a make up overhaul. I have worn the same types of make up since I was twenty-ish.

I find that if I wear lots of make up, it enhances my wrinkles age, but if I don't wear enough I look so washed out.

What are your top tips/essentials for looking radiant but not drag queen over doing it?

A decent primer - covers a multitude of sins and stops foundation settling in the cracks.

Is there one you recommend MissB - I tried a No7 one a while back but it was really shiny

beauty flash balm is a very good primer
I wear laura mercier tinted moisturiser over BFB for everyday and chanel vitalumiere over BFB for going out. Smashbox and Laura Mercier do a matt primer if you don't want to put anything over the top, but I prefer BFB as it seems to let my skin breathe more.

I use the MAC spf 50 one in summer, I'd recommend it
I like the Smashbox one as well
Tinted moisturiser for hotter days, and a good bronzer can help on the way to 'radiant' :)

YSL Touch eclat & yes Laura Mercier primer is good too. Less is more !

Avon Magix is cheap and fab.

yy to tinted moisturiser during the day otherwise I looked caked.

Another vote for Laura Mercier primer. I also like their tinted moisturiser - much less aging than a heavier foundation and quite glowy.

Would also go for very subtle cream eyeshadow - Bobbbi Brown or Becca and a very sheer lipstick/ lipshine rather than an old-fashioned lipstick.
