So I reckon we can whittle it down into 3 camps:

  1. Gypsy Meringue a la Diana
  2. Column style dress with straight edges or
  3. a sheath romantic vision with maybe fishtail or floaty hemline.

I think she'll go Floaty Romantic...

Vote 3.

Noooo....modern, slim and slinky.

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 28/04/2011 17:07

I'll be disappointed if it is a slinky straight thing but suspect it probably will be. I would like to see her in a huge meringue with enormous train - so romantic and proper princess wear.

MissBeehivingCorgis · 28/04/2011 17:07

An enormous hot pink meringue with LED lights in the veil and a stripper bodice.

vjg13 · 28/04/2011 17:27

Straight, modest, shoulders covered, maybe a massive train off the veil?

mrswoodentop · 28/04/2011 17:32

I think it will be very elegant, probably slim and probably lace.I wouldn't be surprised to see some links (obviously updated and more elegant)links to the Queens dress ;same tiara maybe same type of lace

Defo not the big puffy thing!

Gillybobs · 28/04/2011 17:37

Def think straight to the floor and long veil as a train (maybe Im saying this cos that describes mine perfectly.....hmmm). Anyway, cant wait to see.

madammecholet · 28/04/2011 17:42

lol at missbeehivingcorgis, maybe some rotating butterflies too?

I think it will be understated, slinky, but I reckon it will have a long train (can that be understated?) as I think that she'll have quite a few bridesmaids and they'll walk a way behind her, I imagine it will be totally amazing though, and Im sure she'll looked absolutely gorgeous!!!

chickchickchicken · 28/04/2011 20:24

no 3 floaty romantic. preferably vintage lace. long sleeve and long train

spooktrain · 28/04/2011 20:40

I hope it's not b), those columns can be awful stiff looking.

I'm getting an image of something slimline but a bit soft and floaty and embellished in some way

[trying to imagine how rotating butterflies work]

herecomesthsun · 28/04/2011 23:35

I think column.Soft. Maybe a bit 30s, long coat over with train attached, very glam. Everyone has said lace. I think feathers would be great though.

3, Lacey, boat neck, long sleeves, fitted waist, floaty skirt, long train... Or possibly even Victorian style... :o

Be interesting to see who's closest!

5DollarShake · 29/04/2011 04:46

Do people really think slinky for an Abbey wedding?

I think some sort of floaty-yet-fitted (is that possible) sheath, cap-sleeves, sweet-heart neckline, off-white, long train since it's a McQueen.

I reckon the brides could be in a pistachio or (pale) coffee colour.

5DollarShake · 29/04/2011 07:33

Ooh and possibly very long, over the elbow gloves.

madammecholet · 29/04/2011 08:58

I think it will look medieval...based on the forest in the abbey this morning...

OP posts:
BalloonSlayer · 29/04/2011 09:06

I rather hope medieval too. Has she been watching "the Tudors?"

Although someone on another thread speculated that it would be a long white version of her engagement dress, and somehow I feel that might be right. She seems very proud of her very narrow abdomen (always putting her hand to it) so I reckon that will be emphasised.

BalloonSlayer · 29/04/2011 09:08

I have a feeling that royal brides tend to have bridesmaids in the same colour as the bride, and that contrasting colour bridesmaids might be considered a bit, whisper, common, by the royals.

MarioandLuigi · 29/04/2011 09:16

I think it will have a sweetheart neckline, cap sleeves and a large waistband. Fitted but not heavy and very soft.

cece · 29/04/2011 16:46

Hey! I wasn't far off....
