Need a new perfume for Christmas.

Don't like musky, heavy ones, do like light, sea-type or grassy or fruity ones.

LOATHE Angel. LOATHE LOATHE LOATHE. It makes me want to heave if I smell it on someone else.

Ahem. Have offended many of you, I'm sure

Please help me

Annick Goutal perfumes are gorgeous - I've just run out of mine (Eau d'hadrien I think). Must speak to Santa.

mojomummy · 08/11/2005 10:10

Perfumelady - I'll be interested in either the escarda or the paul smith one

I absolutely hate most perfumes ( too heavy, too flowery) but love L'Occitane Green Tea and Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana. Very light and summery.

Another vote for Green Tea (although the one I have is by Elizabeth Arden. It has a lovely fresh smell.

I like to layer scents for different effect. I layer Chanel No. 5 body mist w/eau de parfume, and it smells completely different than if I just use one or the other product alone.

Fortunately, one of the Greek postgrad students is as big a Chanel perfume freak as I am, so whenever she goes home I give her money to buy me some more in Euros, which works out to be just a shade cheaper.

My other absolute FAV to layer is Victor's Secret Pear Glace. I used to have it sent to my parents, but now they ship internationally.

perfumelady · 08/11/2005 19:18

i'm def' going to try chanel madamoiselle, i agree elizabeth arden green tea is very nice, but don't you think the box looks naff, i always beleived that it was an old ladies perfume, but loads of young people do actually buy it

PerfumeLady

Green Tea was a present given to me by my (awful) 60 something MIL but I only came across it via her daughter and she is 11 years my junior. Maybe I am an old lady then!!

Let's jsut say it's a timeless fragrance!

Smells great though.

puff · 08/11/2005 22:06

Pear Glace sounds interesting expat - what kind of fragrance is it - light/floral/fruity? Do you know if it can be shipped over here?

expatinscotland · 08/11/2005 22:08

It's fruity but light. Yes, it can be shipped here! www.victoriasecret.com

I just ordered two shower gels, two sprays and one lotion - 5 for $30 special.

I don't hold a scent well, so I like to layer it on.

puff · 08/11/2005 22:09

ooh, another website to drool over - didn't realise I could get Victoria's Secret stuff sent over here!

expatinscotland · 08/11/2005 22:10

You didn't used to, but they've changed their policy .

You can also CAT 'sunchowder'. She's willing to handle it through her PayPal account - bless her!

puff · 08/11/2005 22:16

I love all their lingerie etc. When I was last in the States I was too big to fit their stuff . Think I will treat myself now!

puff · 08/11/2005 22:20

crikey, they've got some racey stuff on the website! It was all v pretty and frilly last time I went in Victoria's Secret shop!
