Fancy giving me a total wardrobe makeover??

Oh wise MN'ers, if you have a spare decade 5 minutes, I challenge you to sort me out. (fashion wise of course Wink)

I have a pretty much empty wardrobe, I wear the same boring shite all the time and I am fed up.

I need inspiration.

I hate shopping as I never seem to be able to find things to fit. I am 5'1, size 6 and size 3 feet.

Do you need any other info?

Please help me

Casual or workwear? what's your favourite type outfit? What age are you? Budget?

NotShortImFunSized · 27/04/2011 14:41

As promised Wine infact you might need another WineGrin

SAHM so no workwear needed, I need casual/smart casual and some bits for going out, like a couple of nice dresses, maybe skinny jeans and dressy tops?? also something to wear clubbing once in blue moon

I am 29 but look a lot younger. This sounds ridiculous but I had all my hair chopped off a few weeks ago from near my bum to cropped short and nothing I have goes with it IYKWIM?!

Oh and nothing too expensive Hmm But obviously if I really love something I will buy it anyway. (example maybe dresses up to £40 each? If I can find decent jeans that actually fit I'd probably pay anything!)

Hate wearing anything that makes me feel 'chavvy' and not smartish.

If i had your figure (and believe me I dont) I'd go for:

Dark wash skinny jeans (I love Gap for jeans)
Rolled up chinos (very "in" at the moment)
Stripey tops to wear with either of the above, like these
jersey blazer for casual smart looks ,Ive just bought this Its amazing, soft, comfy and stylish

Couple of dressy tops like this, will also look good under the blazer

I love the dresses Pearl Lowe has done for Peacocks amazing value

When I had short hair I found jewellery/accessories really helped make me feel more feminine. I love to wear a nice floral scarf when Im wearing my stripey top and blazer combo, just get a scarf in similar colours, the clash of floral and stripes looks great imo

Hope that helps

Ooh Gilly thank you so much [cgrin]

love the jacket idea, already have 2 stripey tops I'd forgotten about.
The dressy tops link doesn't work though.

I definitely need jewellery, the scarf idea is good too. That's why I don't like the hair, don't feel in the slightest bit feminine.

Off to look at skinny jeans online now Smile

im 5ft 2
i wear topshop skinny baxters in petite jeans, anything from Gap is massive on me and way too long
also like Gilly am loving jersey blazers at the moments get a very slim fit one for your build
cargo pants/chinos are very in, gorgeous trousers in zara and for cheaper options look at H&M. zara have some lovely colour blocking options in at the moment and if you are nervous about pink/red jeans/trousers try something like a bright blue which can be very versatile, enjoy colour!
must dash but can link later for you

NotShortImFunSized · 27/04/2011 21:37

Thanks Pink
Love the jeans, have just ordered some! Going on a mad shopping spree at the weekend so will have a good look around for all the bits mentioned Smile

trying that top link again www.oasis-stores.com/Laser-Cut-Petal-Top/Tops-&-Blouses/oasis/fcp-product/4490096329

PinkOlives · 27/04/2011 21:58

ooh great hope the jeans are perfect when they arrive!

scarves great for this weather and so brighten up and outfit and i have gone for a hot pink one as I got sick of wearing dull coloured ones in the winter, although ive got a quite a few on this page Blush
scarves

coloured blue trousers
can you tell i like colour??? at 29 id say embrace!
you can dress down the coloured jeans with a crisp white t-shirt
maybe also some gold or silver sandals or flats just to add a splash of glamour to the outfit
come back and tell us about your shopping spree!

NotShortImFunSized · 27/04/2011 23:18

Gily still not working for me but is it the white petal top?? I like that.

Wow I'm loving the scarves, where have they been all my life?!

Wow in a slightly different way to the coloured jeans, but they could grow on me though. I'll try some out and report back Grin

Yes was linking to the peetal top, like the white and the coral too. Same them in the shop today and they are lovely. Would look gorgeous under the little blazer I reckon.

Re the scarves, I honestly dont feel dressed without a scarf , I have dozens (non of them expensive), florals, stripes and animal print mainly, lifts any outfit I reckon.

Looking forward to hearing how you get on
