SO far I have gathered the following essentials on my list, can you add anything for my new grown up proper make up bag? (ie not one with collection 2000 and rimmel hiding under benefit stuff..)

Max factor smokey eye thing
Lancome hypnose mascara
No7 adjusting foundation thing (no idea what real name is)

Nice. Under eye concealer? I use Estee Lauder, Double Wear - the one with the little sponge applicator. Lasts forever. Brightens the whole face without looking "too much". I only use it under my eyes but it makes a big difference.

Excellent choice of mascara there, ilythia!

A translucent compact? I've a nice chanel one.

You've picked the best mascara there!

Bobbi Brown Blushers, hugely pigmented so look scary in packaging but are great on and colour lasts all day

If you like proper lipstick I also recommend their lippy, creamy but lasting, brilliant natural colours

Thanks ladies, got the lancome

also got clinique foundation, which she put on me in the wrong shade (after I told her which to use)

Must find a bobbi brown counter then, where are they?
