Never been plucked

I've never had my eyebrows plucked. They're quite fair and I never thought they looked bad but now I've started to think they may be part of the reason why I always look so scruffy, even when I make a huge effort.

I feel a bit too embarrassed to ask a friend to teach me how to pluck them, and I don't want to go it alone and make a big old mess, which I'm sure I will, unless I have a solid guide to work from.

Does anyone know of such a guide? Or do I need to go to a salon? Is that a service they offer at salons? If so, how much does it cost?

(Blush Doesn't it really hurt?)

go to a salon

you might pay a tenner or so, praps a bit more

don't DIY, very easy to get wrong if you don't know what you are doing

get it done then follow the line yourself afterwards

you get a better finish with threading

2 paracetamol 20 mins beforehand, takes the edge off

you will be AMAZED

Have them threaded, it doesn't hurt at all and gives a great look and finish. If you don't want to keep going you can pluck yourself following the shape. Can get them done for about £7 around here (north west).

I get my eyebrows and upper lip (I've got dark hair) waxed about once a month. I live out of town and the salon I go to charges £11.50. City centre it's probably closer to £16.

I did attempt to do it myself a few times and it always looked a mess - either lop sided or a permenant surprised look! It's a bit nippy but not sore and well worth it. Be brave and good luck!

It really doesn't hurt!

Honestly, you'll wonder what you were worried about afterwards and you'll look heaps better, much more groomed etc.

Go for it!!

Threading is fabulous, but for me it hurts!! Take the pain (and the paracetamol) Smile

Meggles76 · 26/04/2011 22:26

I had my eyebrows threaded for the first time recently and it was a bloody revelation Smile. They look so 'groomed'. I am keeping it up by just plucking hairs that I see growing back through
