Just had a baby and as a result a) my feet have gone up to a size 7 from a 6 and b) I am trying to shift the excess weight by walking loads. I am 33 and need some trainers that look good with jeans but are comfortable to walk long distances in. Any ideas??

Converse are very very bad for your feet, especially for walking long distances. I always get lectured by the podiatrist about wearing them.

Adidas Superstars are very stylish, wide fitting and have arch support as well as a bit of give under the balls of your feet.

This is a great site for finding more interesting styles than you would in most shops www.shell-toes.com/ (although you might want to try on a pair in the shops first for size).

I have Aasics and they are very supportive. I would avoid white - a pain to keep clean and make your feet look even bigger [bitter, moi?]. My post-baby ones were blue and I loved them.

Get some supportive ones. You need something with a bit of heel and arch support and sole cushioning if you want to be keen to wear them more than once. I had a pair of running trainers for marching around post-twins and they were so comfortable I was happy to walk for miles with buggy etc.

I have sketchers and they are very very comfortable!

And they look stylish too (I normally hate the look of trainers!)

I have a pair of the reebok toning trainers, they are really comfortable ( I walk a couple of miles in them most days) and have the added bonus of toning you as you walk.

I have just bought Asics, I wanted Adidas Kanadia but i'm a size 8 and I could only get them in a 7. The Adidas ones were in more funky colours Wink
