I've got the day off and have spent an awful lot of time this weekend reading the papers.
I have to confess to being republican but I do love a pretty girl and a nice dress and a wedding. I once saw KM in the King' Road, she was gorgeous, and I'm looking forward to Friday.
A lot of the papers are going on about what a great marketing opportunity KM represents for British designers. Do you agree?
IMO it would really piss me off if KM wore designer clothes. For the moment, I console myself that she's spending her parents' money, or getting stuff free.
I don't want her to spend public money (PW is on the civil list IRRC) on designer clothes. I loved the fact that she was shopping in Warehouse last week. The Royals aren't allowed to accept gifts (though I'm sure they do), and every time she wore Burberry or Mulberry I'd be in a fury thinking, "We've paid for that." It's a bit easier to swallow if she's on the High Street spending £40
It made me crosser than cross that a civil list non-entity like Sophie bloody Wessex has reportedly spent £3k on couture Bruce Oldfield to wear to the wedding. That's our money, you twunt, and I bet you'll still look like a county matron twice your age
