Is this a dress-up occasion? Or trousers and a nice shirt? Or just slouchy clothes?

It's from 6-8. There will be food + wine, a costume parade type thing for the kids, then fireworks. Independent school, not v. fancy, generally.

Smart/Casual and Warm! Not dressy I wouldn't think.

Jeans and a jumper. complemented with a scarf, gloves and a woolly hat.

It's gonna be cold!

Enjoy.... and don't drink all the beer!

NotQuiteCockney · 04/11/2005 14:26

It's always about 500C in the hall!

I can't ever find the trousers I want. But realistically, I won't be comfy in a skirt anyway, not least with the walk there.

Back to digging through clothes, I guess.

If it's outdoors (assuming it is) - would go casual. Jeans/cords and boots with top/shirt and jacket (or jumper). Not scruffy though.

Fimbo · 04/11/2005 14:27

Make that 2 jumpers!! It will be pitch black - no-one will see what you are wearing!!

NotQuiteCockney · 04/11/2005 14:29

Oh, the food and stuff is all inside. Last time I dressed for outdoors and actually boiled to death.

Fine, then, I'll dress for the school pick-up and not change. Keeps that easy.

Sorry didn't realise you would be going inside. I would go for a "layered" look then, so you can peel off.
