I've been pretty run down recently, flu virus, tonsilitis, ear infection, D&V in last 6 weeks or so.....all passed on from my lovely 14mo DS!
Anyway have really noticed a difference in my nails, have never had a problem with them being weak in the past so any tips for getting them back to normal?

I have terrible nails, thin peeling etc...i recently started putting hand cream on twice a day (thickly at night) and using a bit of cuticle oil and my nails are transformed.

hi there I have found that eating a handful of almonds everyday is helping loads. Also what whoneeds says too

purpleknittingmum · 24/04/2011 16:17

Oh poor you having all that!

Apparently jelly cubes are good for nails! No idea how true that is though!

I really recommend those perfectil tablets will take around a month before you will see an improvment but worth it

tulpe · 24/04/2011 16:58

massage sweet almond oil into your hands every time you wash them (or very rich handcream at the least).

Also agree with handful of almonds a day. I have terribly dry skin and nails and this works a treat for me. Unfortunately, due to brace wearing at present, am unable to do this again until september!

I swear by Nails Inc A&E. For the first time in my life I have nails which other people admire! Grin

Your nail health sounds like it is reflecting your general health at the moment, try focusing on getting yourself better and boosting your immune system.
That said biotin has been shown to help prove nail strength here scroll down to 'brittle nails'. Hope you are feeling better!

I have always found that using one of those sponge 4 sided nail buffers have improved the health of my nails

Early pregnancy works wonders for my crappy nails. Makes me feel absolutely revolting in every other way though.

flybynight · 26/04/2011 20:48

Another vote for OPI NailEnvy. Its the only thinkg that works for my pathetic nails. And you get a matte finish one, which I like.

Calcium tablets, if you can find them.
