here

Am rather tight frugal, so this is a fair bit of money for me to spend!(my usual cut off price for dresses is £35)

Also want to be sure that it is actually nice, and I've not been out in the sun too long today :)

And if you do like it, how would you accessorise?...

I don't like the puffball. And the grey colour is rather officey. And her boobs look painfully squashed.

Think you could do better for £70 to be brutally honest.

Sarsaparilllla · 20/04/2011 17:38

I do like it, I'd go for silver shoes and some sparkly jewellery - guess it depends what size you are tho, because much as I like it, I know I couldn't pull it off :)

Swedes2 · 20/04/2011 17:39

Ewww. That's a truly nasty & cheap looking dress? Sorry.

What's the occasion? How old/thin/tall/colouring etc?

TrillianAstra · 20/04/2011 17:39

I quite like it - but it depends if it suits you. Do they do free returns?

TethersEnd · 20/04/2011 17:39

It pains me to say it, as you have one of my favourite usernames hatesponge, but that dress is awful. Many, many levels of wrong.

Hatesponge · 20/04/2011 17:49

Oh dear, I think that might be a no then!

I think I am too fat for it, but am a bit overexcited as losing lots of weight currently. Do have a tendency when thin(ner) to dress inappropriately....

So, back to the drawing board. It's to wear to Ascot, am going in a (pink!) limo with 7 v glamorous ladies (think along lines of footballers wives crossed with TOWIE :)).

I am the youngest and least everyday glamorous, hence wanting to make an effort.

height 5' 6". Will wear heels though!
size - by Ascot prob a 16, hourglassy shape, 38g bust which may reduce but prob not by much...
colouring - long, curly dark brown hair, pale skin (but could fake tan, the others def will be!)

What about this alternative from same shop? Cheaper too.
I think it would be more suitable to a day at the races too.

Swedes2 · 20/04/2011 18:03

Brunettes often look lovely in navy and I take it you have good legs if you were going for the puffball Grin - Do you like this dress? I love it.

woopsidaisy · 20/04/2011 18:06

That is lovely Swedes.
Pleats can be tricky on big boobs though...Would be worth trying on IMO.

TethersEnd · 20/04/2011 18:09

You must get this. At once Grin

MissBeehivingChoclitWabbits · 20/04/2011 18:12

Lovely frock Tethers. Listen to Auntie Tethers. She's the fairy godmother of S & B. Wink

Swedes2 · 20/04/2011 18:12

Woops - Yes. I'm not sure how that would work with 38G.

Hatesponge - Do you have a narrow waist?

woopsidaisy · 20/04/2011 18:13

Wow Tethers, that is gorgeous! Do you really think that would be ok with norks? I feel like a mono boob in anything remotely high necked....but I would be willing to give that a go. 'Tis fab-a-lous.

Swedes2 · 20/04/2011 18:14

OOh tethers I love that dress.

MissBeehivingChoclitWabbits · 20/04/2011 18:15

It's a great dress for norks. Shows off your assets without looking like a stripper.Envy

Hatesponge · 20/04/2011 18:18

swedes - I do like the blue a lot. V pretty, though the pleats may not be good.

however I rather love Tethers suggestion, even though it is far too expensive Blush am also concerned whether I can shove my large bosom in it without ending up with a sort of shelf!....

Swedes2 · 20/04/2011 18:18

The only problem with the tethers dress is that it's appalling from the rear.

Hatesponge · 20/04/2011 18:20

lol at showing assets without looking like a stripper Grin

this is normally where I go wrong (I blame it on the fact I'm from Essex!)

TitsalinaBumSquash · 20/04/2011 18:20

I really like that dress, wouldn't accessorise to much just some killer heels and maybe some bangles.

Hatesponge · 20/04/2011 18:25

I have to have a hat as well. Or a fascinator.

Swedes2 · 20/04/2011 18:25

Large boobs can either be zeppelins or mounds.

polyhymnia · 20/04/2011 18:47

Like tethers dress, though not the one in the OP - incredibly hard to pull off and probably not worth trying.

Swedes2 · 20/04/2011 21:50

Sorry about my last post: 15 year old son and his friend left alone with a laptop
