Can anyone recommend me a good, NON-GREASY SPF for face?

The weather is SO lovely, ATM. But the downside of this for me is that I need to slather myself in sun cream. Then I end up like a greaseball. I'm really looking for sun protection to wear sprodadically, but if anyone knows of a good daily one (ie for under makeup), let me know also please!

Can anyone recommend me a good SPF for the face?
I've tried -

  • Clinique sun cream one - very, very greasy (- Clinique City Block for everyday. Makes me itch).
  • Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster

Thanks in advance...

I use a moisturiser from Body Shop with SPF in it (either 15 or 20) which is good. It's the vitamin C one - might that help??

Lulumama · 20/04/2011 16:24

I use superdrug vitamin e day cream with spf 15 which is about £3 and it's a good base for make up

TracyK · 20/04/2011 16:38

Dermalogica pure light spf 30 - I'm just googling it at the mo for a price but I bet it will be ££££££. I got a sample the other day and am really liking it.

BadPoet · 20/04/2011 16:50

I read a positive review of this Healthspan one the other day and I am considering trying it. Good price too!

I've been using a \link{http://www.laroche-posay.com/products-treatments/Anthelios/Sun-for-everyone-r35.aspx\La Roche Posay Anthelios} one, non -tinted version for the face. It's not 100% non-greasy, but it's pretty good. Works very well instead of moisturiser in the morning, then I put my mineral powder foundation on top, which makes it more matte.

VerityBrulee · 20/04/2011 16:53

Agree with Jackie, the Anthelios is the best I've tried

EEk - £39.95 for 50ml of Pure Light - but it does 'brighten' your face and improves the smoothness. hmmmm - might wait till pay day.

Eau thermale avenue hydrance optimal uv legere (SPF 20), perfect for my combination skin. I work outside and often get seriously hot and sweaty and it seems to help my make up stay put too.

carciofi · 20/04/2011 17:17

I've started using Ultrasun Face SPF30 Anti-Aging Formula, seems good and non-greasy. As for the anti-aging part, time will tell!

c0rns1lk · 20/04/2011 17:19

I'm using ultrasun this year to be sure of proper protection. Have used city block and tinted moisturiser for years but last year started to get brown spots on my forehead so they can't have been totally effective. This year It's ultrasun and a hat for me!

c0rns1lk · 20/04/2011 17:19

xpost with carciofi!

Oil Free Matte Block SPF20 is BRILLIANT. I didn't get any grease with this on my oft-oily skin (esp in heat) and skin did not break out. Brilliant.

HazeltheMcWitch · 20/04/2011 18:11

Wow, thanks all for recommendations; have to read up on them all now...

Saffa - which brand was your one?

Sorry, thought I'd said. Obv not!

It's Dermalogica and I bought mine from the Jersey Beauty Company.

www.jerseybeautycompany.co.uk/dermalogica/oil-free-matte-block-spf20.html

It was a great product for me. Got married in a heatwave abroad and wore under my make up without it all sliding off.

DonaAna · 21/04/2011 18:25

Eucerin Aquaphor SPF. Absorbs quickly and leaves a dewy, non-greasy finish. Have been meaning to check out LRP Anthelios as well, just to compare.

partyhats · 21/04/2011 18:30

I use a kiehls spf50 one that i got in spacenk. Light and non greasy.

Celery · 21/04/2011 18:43

I like the la roche possay anthelios one, but I prefer the MAC spf 50 prep and prime. I wear it every day as a primer, as it's the only thing I've tried that keeps make up from sliding off my oily face. The spf is a bonus.

La roche possay anthelios is very good though.

FanjoForTheMusic · 21/04/2011 19:59

Celery, can you put moisturiser under the Prep & Prime? It looks good but I have combination skin and usually need moisturiser.

Housewife2010 · 21/04/2011 22:10

I second the Avene one. No annoying suncream smell either - just like applying moisturiser.

JustLikeHeaven · 21/04/2011 22:16

I use the La roche possay one but find it makes me look very pale. Is there a clear gel one?

Celery · 22/04/2011 08:04

Yes, I think most people use a moisturiser under primer. I don't, but my skin is very oily.

JackieNo · 22/04/2011 09:15

JustLikeHeaven - I don't think there's a clear gel one of the La Roche Posay, but there is a lightly tinted one - maybe that would work better for you.

Blackcoffeeandcigarettes · 22/04/2011 09:19

Clarins,Clarins,Clarins! They are the best. New SPF 40 is amazing! So light! And if it's sun cream you need they are the best. The tan you get is amazing! Go and and speak to one of the girls. it's amazing!

HazeltheMcWitch · 22/04/2011 15:33

Thanks all for fab suggestions. I had a good rootle around the shops yesterday, and tried LOTS on the back of my hand. I plumped for the La Roche Posay Anthelios one. It's very hot here today so I opened up my new package and... like a muppet I had managed to pick up the tinted one. I am deathly pale, so it does not work for me. A 'present' for my sister then.

Very nice texture however! Now, will I buy the same one (non tinted) again, or will I buy another one...!?
