here

I've just ordered it. What do you think? Bearing in mind I am quite old, quite short and quite fat, but with a good waist.

It's beautiful. Where will you wear it?

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 19/04/2011 12:07

great shape to show off a good waist

dexter73 · 19/04/2011 12:07

Lovely print and will show off your waist.

FellatioNels0n · 19/04/2011 13:10

I don't know where I will wear it yet. But I never let that minor detail stand between me and a nice frock. Grin

I've got a horrible sneaking suspicion that it is going to look crap in RL though. That waist is very high and verging on empire ine, which can make me look PG if I'm not careful.

Oooh, that's lovely - very feminine. Hope it fits!

DirtyBit · 19/04/2011 14:13

I've seen it on in real life, it's lovely. I was going to buy it with my staff discount but decided not to coz I don't know what size I will be once I've had my baby :( I wanted it so much.

deemented · 19/04/2011 14:19

That is very lovely indeed!

What shoes are you going to wear with it?

FellatioNels0n · 19/04/2011 14:47

Um, don't know yet but I shall resist the temptation to buy more shoes. I have too many already.

Very pretty Smile

I can't believe how many times I've clicked on that link just to judge my own flipping new dress. Hmm

(misses point of own thread)

Its really lovely. Excellent choice. What kind of length is it on you (asks someone who is only 5 foot 1 inch and dresses tend to drown her)?

FebreezeYourJeans · 19/04/2011 15:36

It looked dreadful on me when I tried it on and I was so disappointed. I'm 5'8 12/14 hour glass and it just didn't hang right.

Hope it is much better on you. I however now have my eye on this butterfly beauty;

oasis

FellatioNels0n · 19/04/2011 16:05

I am 5' 2" but long of body and short of leg. And i would say I'm hourglassy. We'll see. I'm not holding out too much hope!

I'm back with news of my butterfly dress. The good news is that John Lewis is fantastic and they delivered at 8am this morning an order that was placed at 11 am yesterday - at no cost.

The bad news is that the dress looked vile. That asymmetrical skirt had its shortest part right across the front, above of my lardy knees, and the fabric was too see through, and it made me look PG.

However, I ordered some other bits and was far more successful with those. Want to see them? Of course you do. Grin

this which is really pretty but a bit dressy? Don't know if I really need it TBH. Love the parrots though.

this in the green colourway, but it is so nice and cool and summery and easy to wear that I might get the blue one as well.

this which I absolutely love but it is too small on the boobs for me, but the next size will be too big on the bum and waist Sad

this jolly useful for summer

this jury' still out. Love it but I think I may look a bit wide in it.

this also jolly useful for summer

and this piece of bargainous loveliness! £20!!!! And it is perfect!

What do you think?

I love the parrots and Great Plains (which is now out of stock GRRRR)
The only one I strongly dislike is the second one which reminds me of a housecoat my mother used to wear.

It's such a pity about the butterflies, fab on the hanger and ghastly on, t'was the same for me.

So glad you came back to fill us in.

FellatioNels0n · 20/04/2011 21:26

I know exactly what you mean about the housecoat!!!! But that's kind of why I love it. Blush I'm odd.

Fellatio - I love the White Stuff skirt - It's lovely. I wish I didn't have knees like Wayne Rooney.

LOL at housecoat... I must admit I thought ewww too much like a pinny/tabard.

FellatioNels0n · 28/04/2011 14:05

I sent the housecoat back. [csad] You lot got to me. I bought this instead which is luvverly and loose and cool for summer. [[http://www.johnlewis.com/207457/Style.aspx here.]
